FG Leary Fine Arts school presents Paint the Town December, a multicultural holiday celebration.
It’s the story of Graysville; drab, old Graysville.
But it’s the holiday season, and each year, the young people volunteer to paint the storefront windows of every business in town in order to brighten things up and make the season a cheerful and colourful place.
As they do, they also discover the colourful wonder of the traditions that the citizens of their town celebrate every December.
From Kwanzaa to Christmas, Hanukkah, Las Posadas, and Ramadan, the real and figurative colours of the season come alive and paint a magical portrait of people learning about and appreciating the wonderful traditions celebrated by their friends and neighbours.
Paint the Town December is at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre Dec. 13 for two shows — 12:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Tickets $6 and available at the Centre Box Office, online at www.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).
