The Vanderhoof Community Theatre Society and Nechako Valley Secondary School are producing “Fiddler on the Roof”, for 6 evening performances; April 26-28, and May 3-5 at NVSS.

First performed by NVSS students 20 years ago, the 2012 production features 26 NVSS students, seven elementary students, and 14 adult community members. The show’s music is provided by a live orchestra.

Fiddler on the Roof is the story of the Jewish people in Anatevka, in early 20th century Czarist Russia. The story is told through the trials of a poor dairyman, as he comes to grips with the changes threatening his family and his community’s traditions.

Fiddler is one of the most widely-recognized musicals of all time, a poignant and timeless blend of unforgettable music, rich historical significance, and, of course, laughter.
