Local filmmaker Richard Boyce will launch his film Coastal Tarsands — Journey to Deleted Islands on Sunday, Oct. 26 in his hometown of Errington.
In the documentary, Boyce kayaks BC’s hotly debated North Coast to look at the geography, wildlife, and people who live there.
“I realized how significant this issue (supertankers on the B.C. coast) is to everyone living along the coast,” Boyce says in a news release.
There will be two showings of the film, one at 2:30 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m. Both viewings will be held at the Errington Hall and doors will open half an hour before the film’s start time.
Tickets are $10 each at the door.
There will also be DVDs of the documentary available that night for $20.
All proceeds, including the funds from ticket sales, will go towards screenings of the film in other communities, says Boyce.
