Fort Langley florist takes part in fashionable flower show

Alice de Crom has been selected for Fleurs de Villes, a floral mannequin show, happening April 5-9

A Langley florist will be channeling her inner fashionista at an upcoming floral design event.

Alice de Crom, owner of Floralista in Fort Langley, will be creating a bespoke floral mannequin for Fleurs de Villes, a floral mannequin show, when it comes to Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby April 5-9.

Fleurs de Villes — meaning flowers of the cities — is one of the first events of its kind in Canada to combine fashion with flowers. The travelling show partners with local florists, designers, growers and nurseries to create one-of-a-kind clothing designs out of fresh flowers.

Public viewing of the mannequins runs from Wednesday, April 5 through Sunday, April 9 during regular mall hours. A pop-up fresh flower market will round out the event on Saturday, April 8, complete with fresh-cut flowers, bouquets, bedding plants, pots and other gardening supplies available for purchase inside the shopping centre.

Shoppers can vote for their favourite mannequin for the chance to win prizes.
