An event that merges art with innovation and community returns to Fort Langley later this month.
The fifth annual Creative Life Youth Art Show, hosted by Langley Youth Unlimited, comes to the Fort Langley Community Hall on Thursday, June 21.
Creative life is an after school art program for high school youth that aims to foster belonging and emotional health through visual arts.
Hosted by Langley Youth Unlimited, the program provides youth a chance to explore different ideas, concepts and perspectives without judgment or pressure. This is all done while making meaningful connections with their peers, other creatives and caring adults in their community.
“It is the dream of Youth Unlimited that the youth of Langley would have the means to live a health life: physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually,” a spokesperson said in a press release.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with guests walking the red carpet dressed in cocktail attire. From there, guests can enjoy an evening of art, local food and drink and live entertainment.
The youth artwork that will be on display will be available for purchase through a silent auction. All proceeds from the event, including the artwork sold, will go back to the art program and students.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at www.yulangley.com or by emailing hello@communiticollective.com.
