Free concerts in the park moving to city’s waterfront

NANAIMO – Nanaimo’s Summer Concerts in the Park series moves to Maffeo Sutton Park.

The city’s concert series is heading seaside.

On Wednesday (Aug. 5), the community can enjoy free musical entertainment on Nanaimo’s waterfront when the Summer Concerts in the Park series moves to Maffeo Sutton Park.

The new location at the park’s Lions Pavilion will see performances by Sunny, Honey and Wild Bill; Michael Wood Band; Drs of Rock ‘n’ Roll; and Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra. The series runs every Wednesday evening, 6-7:30 p.m., until Aug. 26.

As part of the Summer Concerts in the Park series, the public can enjoy special lunchtime shows on Mondays, 12:30-1:30 p.m., at Maffeo Sutton Park until Aug. 24. Please note that there will not be a lunchtime performance on Monday (Aug. 3) due to the B.C. Day holiday.
