Dumb comedy, smart comedy, beautiful poetry and chunky poetry are the words used by British performance poet Jem Rolls to describe his 30-minute show, Jem Rolls Attacks the Silence.
“I plan it for variety so people don’t know what is coming next,” Rolls told the News Bulletin.
Rolls, who has participated in 100 fringe festivals, will be performing his show at the Harbour City Theatre on Sunday (Sept. 28) at 7 p.m.
“I have short pieces, I have long pieces,” Rolls explained. “I have extended intros to pieces that are completely different than what I’ve led them up to be. It’s kind of like a sucker-punch.”
Jem Rolls Attacks the Silence has received rave reviews from a number of Canadian publications including Toronto Now.
Tickets for Jem Rolls Attacks are $15 at the door or $12 in advance. For more information, please visit www.nanaimofringe.com.
