Often called the best ska band in Vancouver (or quite probably Canada), Los Furious is in Maple Ridge next week to headline Adstock.
The six-piece band features a horn section complemented by distinct songwriters and vocalists.
The Furios shine the brightest when seen and heard live.
Another upcoming band to catch at Adstock is Rags to Radio, which has links to Vancouver, Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
The quartet are also becoming known for their charismatic live shows, raw, yet catchy songs and their interaction with live audiences.
Made up of Layton and Zack Keely, Jake Holmes, and Josh Erickson, the band continues to work tirelessly, writing and performing cathartic and contagious melodies.
Adstock’s Matt Salvesen says Rags to Radio has just signed to a label based in Los Angeles.
Adstock is an annual, free concert that was started eight years ago by Adam Rayburn.
He called it Adstock – a play on his own name and Woodstock, the most famous concert in history, and which featured legendary performances by Jimi Hendrix, Credence Clearwater Revival, and Joe Cocker, among others.
Rayburn hung up his hat this year, but instead of ending the event that bears his name, he’s passing the torch on to others who know a free rock concert is an immediate panacea to suburban boredom.
Salvesen and Polina Erovjenets took over from Rayburn and have lined up a group of bands that are sure to keep the crowd entertained.
