A Cabin Fever Concert takes place at the Lumby Royal Canadian Legion hall March 28.
The 7 p.m. event is sponsored by the Monashee Arts Council and it features the duo of Saskia and Darrel, also known as the Great Plains.
Saskia and Darrel are certainly no strangers to the Lumby and Vernon area as they have played with Juno award-winner Gary Fjellgaard for many years up and down the Okanagan Valley.
“So get ready, sit back and expect to enjoy a heart-warming evening of music, merriment, and mayhem, as they deliver a hot blend of music, a series of songs that change every night,” states a Monashee Arts Council release.
“They delight their audience with tales about Louis Riel, war brides, miners and David Thompson and then surprisingly will break into Swiss yodeling, or sing in Gaelic, Spanish, Dutch, German or French.”
Besides Fjellgaard, they have performed with Valdy, the Good Brothers, Ian Tyson and many more.
They were awarded the top folk/roots album in Holland, have received numerous awards and they have enjoyed many years of airplay on the top indie folk/roots charts in Europe.
Tickets for the performance are $15 each at the door. Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and they are available at the MAC office (1961 Vernon St. in Lumby).
