Christmas returned to Revelstoke last week for the filming of Marry Me at Christmas, a Hallmark Channel movie. Downtown Revelstoke was covered in Christmas decorations as the town was turned into a stand-in for Fool's Gold, the fictional Californian mountain community at the heart of Susan Mallery's best-selling novel. Local businesses were dressed up and given names from the book, and numerous locals were cast as extras. So far there are more than 20 books in the Fool's Gold series, so it's possible we might see more movies filmed here in the future. ~ by Alex Cooper, Revelstoke Review

Hallmark to film again in Revelstoke

Scenes for Frozen in Love will be filmed in downtown Revelstoke starting Saturday

In December, downtown Revelstoke will once again be transformed into a movie set.

Hallmark will be filming Frozen in Love from Dec. 2 until Dec. 8.

The production will be filming at several locations, but the only full road closure will be Grizzly Plaza on Dec. 6 and 7.

During the closure, transit users will be directed to a temporary stop at First Street, across from CIBC.

The Revelstoke Forum will be closed on Dec. 4 for filming from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A City of Revelstoke Public Notice offers a full list of the road and parking lot closures.

Hallmark last filmed in Revelstoke in March this year, when scenes from Marry Me At Christmas were captured.

On Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. (doors open at 4:30 p.m.), Roxy Theatre will be screening Marry Me At Christmas. Admission is free with a food bank donation.

It will also be showing Dec. 3 and Dec. 7 at 4:30 p.m., and will cost $5 with a food bank donation.

According to whatsfilming.ca, Frozen in Love is part of Hallmark’s Winterfest lineup that will air in January.

No storyline has been released for the film, but it reportedly stars Rachel Leigh Cook (She’s All That, Josie and the Pussycats, Antitrust) and is based on her original idea.
