The Alberni Valley United Church handbell ensemble and adult Cantata Choir, along with Dennis Olsen, classical guitarist, and featuring Nanaimo’s JuBELLation Handbell Choir will be performing at Alberni Valley United Church on Sunday, Dec. 18.
The show begins at 2:30 p.m. and admission is by donation (suggested donation is $10 to support the music ministry).
Mistletoe market
Don’t miss out on visiting Mistletoe Market at the Rollin Art Centre with more than 150 local artisans showcasing their artwork.
Items included are glass works, paintings, Christmas cards, pottery, jewellery, fabric art, ornaments and much more.
The Rollin Art Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one more late night left.
The last late night hours are on Friday, Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mistletoe Market will be on until Dec. 23.
Sounds of Christmas
Enjoy the sounds of traditional Christmas music on Friday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Rollin Art Centre.
Favourite Christmas carols will be played accompanied by organ and piano.
Admission is by cash donation for the Bread of Life and Trinity music program. Refreshments to follow.
Musical memories
Portal Players presents Musical Memories at the Capitol Theatre; celebrating 80 years at the Capitol Theatre.
The show will run on Dec. 16, 17 and 30 and Jan. 6, 7, 8, 13 and 14.
Advanced tickets are $20 and available at the Rollin Art Centre, Capitol Theatre box office and online.
Classical concerts
A Classical Concert Series begins Feb. 12 at Char’s Landing with the Bergmann Piano Duo.
The second concert will feature the Borealis String Quartet on April 9 and the third musica intima on May 14. Concerts take place on Sundays at 2:30 p.m. at Char’s Landing.
Admission is by series subscription of $100 for all three concerts, no individual concert tickets sold. The artists and dates listed above are dependent on the sale of 120 subscriptions.

DRAW Gallery
Sketches from Life is the title of the sixth annual Life Drawing Exhibit at DRAW Gallery, on until Dec. 23, with a meet and greet artist reception on Friday, Dec. 16 from 6-8 p.m.
DRAW Gallery is located online and on location at the corner of Melrose Street and Eighth Avenue.
