They’re all grown up now and they’re headed for Penticton.

Hanson, the trio of brothers that started out in the ‘90s as a teen boy-band, hitting it big in 1997 with their single MMMBop, are still at it, touring in support of their fifth album. Currently on the South American leg of their Shout It Out World Tour, pop-rock trio Hanson has announced a string of Canadian concerts, including a stop in Penticton on Jan. 25.

The former boy-band will be on a tight schedule when they hit Canada, with 15 tour dates packed into a three-week period, starting on Jan. 23 in Vancouver and finishing up on Feb. 11 in Montreal.

“This tour will be the most extensive Canadian tour we’ve done to date. We’re excited to visit many parts of the country for the first time and make Canada a part of our world tour,” said singer and drummer, Zac Hanson.

The Shout It Out World Tour, with stops in Europe as well as Central and South America, has received a positive response from fans since it was announced earlier this fall. The international dates follow the band’s two-month-long Musical Ride Tour through the U.S., which concluded Nov. 1. In addition to the Canadian shows, the band is adding on several dates rescheduled from their Musical Ride Tour due to illness.

According to the band, Shout It Out, which debuted at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Independent charts, has fueled the continued passion of fans around the world, lead by the soul-inspired single Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’ and the follow-up Give A Little.

The album highlights two music legends, bass player Bob Babbit of Motown fame and horn arranger Jerry Hey, best known for his work with Michael Jackson and Earth Wind and Fire.

Hanson has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, sold over 16 million albums and has been releasing records independently since 2003 to both critical and fan acclaim. More than 14 years after their debut major release, the band has earned praise for their songwriting, musicianship and dynamic live performances.

In Penticton, Hanson will be performing in the Cleland Theatre  at 8 p.m. on Jan. 25. Tickets are available at the Penticton Community Centre or by phone at 250-490-2426.
