MSA Museum Society is hosting the 17th annual Fraser Valley Regional Heritage Fair on April 9 and 10 at Tradex in Abbotsford, and judges from the community are needed.
More than 1,200 students from six Fraser Valley school districts participated in a school heritage fair, and the top students chosen will move on to represent their school at the regional event.
A total of 160 students will showcase their historical/heritage projects, which reflect some aspect of Canadian history. Judges will evaluate students on their ability to share what they have learned through their research.
“This regional heritage fair is part of a national initiative to encourage youth to celebrate Canada’s history and heritage. Every year I am amazed at the wide variety of topics, and the excitement and enthusiasm that students have as they share their research information at the heritage fair,” said Cindy Rowell, co-ordinator of the event.
Five students will be chosen to represent their school and the Fraser Valley region at the provincial heritage fair.
Judging takes place at Tradex on April 9. The morning session is from 8:45 – 11:15 a.m. The afternoon session is from 12:45 – 2:15 p.m.
If you would like to register as a judge for this event, email Rowell at hfcoordinator@gmail.com.
