Abbotsford Christian Secondary School has already held a run of its latest theatre production Hide and Shriek, and are hopeful this weekend’s performances will go just as well.

The comedy tale is full of lively, larger than life characters.  From the hillbilly family to the city folk to the swamp monster, the play features  crazy antics at every slamming door.

It’s the story of June Hungerford, who is on the run from Edwina Hyde, a crazy woman who is convinced June has stolen the man she loves.

June heads to the hills to hide and encounters a bizarre hillbilly family:  Mom yells a lot, Dad’s not too sharp, and their son Aesop doesn’t seem to have two brain cells to rub together.

Add in some visitors from the city, a swamp creature, a lawyer, a body, and a couple of college students searching for a friend and you are set for an evening of  melodramatic comedy.

The set construction class has worked its magic to produce an impressive set design.

The show continues its run on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the school (35011 Old Clayburn Rd). For more information call 604-755-1891.
