The Holy Wow Poet’s will having a special show to start the new year featuring Hélène Levasseur.
Hélène Levasseur will be launching her Festival of Lights booklets, Holy Wow postcards, her book Marie Noëlle Hélène’s Medley, her new cd Catch the Fever and talking about her auto-biographic poetry book Holy Wow Hélène for the New Year Poetic Bash.
Money raised will go towards the Fraser Valley Brain Injury Association and the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
Levasseur, the founder of Holy Wow Poets, suffered a brain injury in 1989 and was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2005 and ovarian cancer in 2008, both of which she is currently in remission from.
The event is free and people are encouraged to dress up for the gala.
The Holy Wow Poets’ New Year Gala takes place at 7 p.m. on January 3 at the ACT Arts Centre at 11944 Haney Place, downtown Maple Ridge.
