The Panic Squad, an improv comedy troupe, is teaming up with award-winning standup comedian Leland Klassen, to present Canada’s largest clean-comedy tour.
A tour that will make a stop in Abbotsford on Jan. 21 at 7 p.m.
Both acts have extensive professional experience bringing clean comedy to a wide-range of diverse audiences across the continent.
The Laughopolis Comedy Combo Tour will bring that same experience to the Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly located at 3145 Gladwin Rd. Tickets are $15. For information visit www.laughopolistv.com.
The tour features three different genres of comedy; improv, sketch and standup.
“All of the comedians involved pride ourselves in performing excellent comedy in our genre,” said Klassen. “Only with this group of comedians and actors can we bring a show that performs such a high level of comedy in a variety of styles. Canada hasn’t seen anything like it.”
The Panic Squad combines comedic talent, a love for entertaining and commitment to excellence to create a high quality show, much like Klassen.
The decision to work together with a common goal to bring laughter to the whole family was a “no brainer” for both.
“Our shows bring a level of comedy that has brought both of us national recognition, yet it’s clean enough that we often perform in churches,” said the squad’s Andrew Bright. “Truly funny comedy that is completely clean is rare these days.”
The groups toured last year, with some events in central B.C. The show received such an enthusiastic response that the comedians decided to repeat the tour.
“Every venue we contacted from last year’s tour signed on again, and we added dates to accommodate other’s who wanted a stop in their community,” said Bright.
