Prince Rupert’s home-grown improv troupe is returning to the stage! “Hook, Line and Snicker” presents a Valentine’s Eve performance

Prince Rupert’s home-grown, all-organic improv troupe is returning to the stage! “Hook, Line and Snicker” presents a special Valentine’s Eve performance on Saturday, February 13th. Doors of the Tom Rooney Playhouse open at 7:30 p.m.; the curtain rises at 8:00 p.m. Admission will be purchased at the door.

Audiences will thrill to competitive TheatreSports-style improv in which two teams of shockingly spontaneous performers challenge their opponents to invent scenes on the spot, with suggestions from the audience.

The troupe, with an active membership of a dozen multigenerational actors, was founded a year ago by local radio personality Lucas Anders. Of this performance he says, “Our group’s antics — all invented in front of a live audience — are the perfect antidote to the pre-packaged commercialism of Valentine’s Day. Whether you are in the market for giggles, guffaws or full-fledged belly-laughs, the performers of Hook, Line and Snicker will provide total satisfaction.”

For first-time improv attendees, the group emphasizes that no audience members are “put on the spot.” That’s the performers’ job: twisting and writhing in order to conform to their spectators’ extravagant whims.

The show is deliberately family-friendly; all ages are welcome.
