Indigenous Awareness Art Exhibit opens at Kariton Gallery

Show in Abbotsford opens with reception on Saturday, June 1

The Abbotsford Arts Council holds an opening reception on Saturday, June 1 for its new show, the Indigenous Awareness Art Exhibit.

The reception runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kariton Art Gallery, 2387 Ware St. The event is free, and refreshments will be provided, including Stó:lo bannock.

The exhibit offers an opportunity to learn about Indigenous arts, culture, history and traditions. It is curated in collaboration with Indigenous arts advocacy group Cedar, Sage and Sweetgrass.

Pieces at the show represent various Indigenous groups. The exhibit runs until June 25 and is open during gallery hours – Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
