Hope, faith, life, love – the essential ingredients of the human story.
On April 21 and 22, Island Voices choir will sing music chosen to show how we, as people, experience the same emotions, regardless of where we live and what languages we speak.
Musical director Jenn Forsland invites all to an evening of varied music, all connected to these emotions.
“It is my hope that listeners will come to the concert and be stirred by beautiful stories and music that speak to the experiences that unify and equalize us, not those that divide and which illuminate our differences.
“Empathy and compassion are born out of the recognition that at the core, we are all the same, uplifted, motivated, and compelled by love, life, hope and faith,” she noted.
Hope, Faith, Life, Love will be performed at Campbell River United Church on Friday, April 21 and at Comox United Church on Saturday, April 22.
Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20 — students get in free with adults — available at The Music Plant in Campbell River, Blue Heron Books in Comox, and Benjamin Moore House of Colour in Courtenay.
