Find out ‘What’s in the Jar’ at the Waterfront Gallery June 4, when the Ladysmith Arts Council opens it’s next exhibition at 7 p.m.
‘What indeed?’ asks curator Gail Ralphs, who then speculates: “Just about anything that can be made to fit. In my house it’s mostly edible, if you can get the lid off.”
But why a jar? Well to make things last and make them visible. Visible but untouchable. Untouchable until the lid is off or the hand slips. Then what?
Find out at the Ladysmith Arts Council show, sponsored by Palmer Lester Accountants and supported by the Town of Ladysmith.
To help with your meditations, special guest singer-performer Sarah Sorgiovanni will provide entertainment.
Whatever you discover in the jars, you will find a lot of talent and imagination in the artists. “I’m sure there be a wide range of jars and contents, as interpreted by the members of the gallery,” Ralphs said.
The Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery, 610 Oyster Bay Road, is open daily 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone 250-245-1252 for more info, or visit ladysmithwaterfrontgallery.com.
