His music has been described as “richly imaginative” and “the best kind of unpredictable.”
Juno award winner Steve Bell calls his music “infectious.”
On Sunday at 7 p.m., jazz pianist Mike Janzen will take to the stage at All Saints Anglican Church in Vernon for a night of jazz and entertainment you won’t soon forget.
Janzen’s latest recording, Try to Remember, received a glowing review from Christopher Loudon of The Jazz Times and the rambunctious track Chim Chim Che-ree was debuted by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Massey Hall just last year.
Janzen adds his songwriting and smooth tenor vocal to his performance of original songs, combined with interpretations of classic jazz standards and explorative versions of popular songs for an unforgettable and fun evening.
He will be joined by special guests, the Karen Wiseman Trio.
Wiseman is also a hidden local gem, who will be opening the evening with her velvet voice and trio featuring local virtuosi Jim Leonard on piano and Chris Harwood-Jones on bass.
Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased at Wentworth Music, Vernon Alliance Church, All Saints Anglican Church or online at janzeninvernon.eventbrite.ca.
