Melinda Whitaker is thrilled to be a part of the Jazz at the Gallery series at the Victoria Art Gallery on Sunday.
Performing songs from her recent release, Lucky-So-And-So!, Whitaker will be joined by Brent Jarvis (piano), John Hyde (bass) and Hans Verhoeven (drums).
Whitaker is immensely proud of the album.
“With Lucky So-And-So! I have finally recorded an album where I live. A no-holds-barred jazz album with some of the top musicians in the country. I’m home,” she said.
The Jazz at the Gallery series is produced by Universal Jazz Advocates and Mentors, a local not-for-profit society dedicated to supporting the Victoria jazz scene.
The setting of the Gallery’s Spencer mansion is a warm and intimate atmosphere that inspires incredible performances.
Whitaker performs in the Victoria Art Gallery series Jazz at the Gallery Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. 1040 Moss St Tickets are $30, $25 Art Gallery and U-Jam members.
