The OSO is about to host the band Jeans ‘n Classics for its debut performance of Madmen Across the Water: The Songs of Elton John at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre Sunday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.

“This show will feature the well-loved and classic songs of Elton John,” said OSO music director and conductor Rosemary Thomson. “From Daniel to Rocket Man, Elton John’s songs have stood the test of time and sold millions of copies around the world.”

Peter Brennan’s Jeans ’n Classics brings an approach to combining world-class rock music with symphonic sounds. The group of musicians who make up the band say they understand orchestral culture and are committed in building younger, loyal audiences for symphony orchestras across North America.

While most definitely not a tribute act, Jeans ‘n Classics faithfully interprets the music of legendary rock and pop albums and artists, with their own special and signature flair.

“It has been a game changer for orchestras in their quest to attract new and more expansive audiences,” said Thomson. “Symphonies far and wide have heralded the quality of their orchestral scores.”

Known for providing lush, fully realized arrangements of rock and pop classics, the band features top-notch performers, who truly know how to deliver a live show experience with professionalism, humour, and finesse

Jeans ’n Classics works with more than 100 orchestras in venues throughout North America, and has created 1,000 original rock and pop orchestrations, which are presented across 45 unique productions.

“Come and relive the past decades as we sing and play all of your favourites with the live orchestra as the back-up band. Psychedelic glasses are optional,” said Thomson.

Tickets are $56.25 for adults, $49 for seniors and $26.75 for youth at the Ticket Seller, 250-549-7469, www.ticketseller.ca.
