John Fogerty brought his sold-out current cross-Canada tour to Prospera Place on Thursday night to perform in concert.
An American rock’n roll icon, reflected by his induction into the Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame, Fogerty has been widely acclaimed as a musician, songwriter and guitarist since breaking into the music scene in the 1960s.
Fogerty is best known for his time with the swamp rock/roots rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, who were the biggest album selling band in the world after The Beatles officially broke up.
Fogerty has also had several major hits as a solo recording artist, but his time with Creedence Clearwater, plagued for many years by a messy breakup of the band and lawsuits over the royalty rights to the band’s songs, remains a staple of classic rock radio airplay still today.
Kelowna fans were able to hear Fogerty perform some of those tunes last night as the singer has put aside his legal disagreements to begin performing the Creedence hits again as part of his show.
