Summer Kicks is bringing in some of Canada’s finest. Jenny Whitely will be taking over the stage to enchant the crowd.
“Music is my life’s essence,” Whitely said. Whitely, who didn’t commit to music until the age of 24 but has been performing since the age of eight, has been making major headway in the Canadian music scene. With awards like Roots Album of the Year and a couple Juno’s under her belt, the musician said that a Grammy is her next goal.
Whitely’s “country folk bluegrass pop” is a form of music that has taken her far.
In 10 years, the artist has put out four CDs, all of which have been recognized by the music industry.
Whitely said that those who come out to the Spirit Square should expect “lot’s of laughs, lot’s of pickin and lots of song writing.”
This shouldn’t be too out of the ordinary for Golden, Whitely has been here before and is known to engage the crowd.
Although Whitely has accomplished a great deal in her musical career, she still said that her biggest accomplishment is that she keeps going.
Her music has been described as intelligent and allows the audience to peer into Whitely’s personal life and feelings for a brief moment.
With music that anyone can relate to, it is no wonder why Whitely has spent more than a decade living out her dream.
A break in Whitely’s performance will bring out Smalltown Revival, a well known band to the Golden area.
Smalltown Revival have been hitting the Golden venues for many years now with a great sound and even greater vibe.
Their laid back sound reflects their small town lifestyle and will connect to those who call a small town home as well.
