Are you ready to engage your body, mind, and spirit?
The Just in Time Choirs have been developing creative ways to sing together as much as possible despite uncertain conditions.
Singing brings so much fulfilment, joy, and community feeling and we’ve really been missing it,” said JIT spokesperson Glyn O’Keefe, in apress release. “We aim to keep everyone in the choir and the community around us as safe as possible and have devised a set of safe singing protocols which will help us to do that to the best of our ability.”
The group is following recommendations made by government to include masking, distancing, and limiting the number of participants along with other ways to mitigate risk.
“We have organized our fall registration to be in phases,” explained O’Keefe. “Phase 1 will take us through September and will involve weekly Zoom meetings for each choir beginning Sept. 15. There will also be two outdoor in-person rehearsals for each choir on the Saturday mornings of Sept. 18 and 25. We are excitedly continuing with our Totally Awesome 80s music setlists.”
The goal for Phase 2 is to be indoors and in-person starting in October. Vaccinations are required for indoor in-person participation; virtual participants are also welcome as all rehearsals will be live-streamed and recorded.
“We hope that you will join us as we start the new year,” said O’Keefe. “We have more space for changed voice and soprano singers than we do for altos at this time.”
Registration forms and more information are available at www.justintimechoirs.ca, under Joining the Choir. The fee for the Phase 1 sessions is $40.
