Gallery Vertigo is about to host the talents of the Kama? Creative Arts Collective.
The collective is comprised of Okanagan Nation established and emerging artists who have come together to support aboriginal interdisciplinary and multimedia arts development, promotion, education, community involvement and production.
The exhibition will feature 12 established, emerging, community and youth artists, said to be a North Okanagan representation of local Syilx people in the arts.
The artists bring their own original ideas and preferred medium for their own personal expression as a First Nations artist. The explorations range from teachings found in tradition, oral history to contemporary connections.
Exhibiting artist Csetkwe Fortier of Skookumsound will provide hand drum songs at the opening reception, which takes place Thursday, June 4 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Gallery Vertigo is located at #1-3001 31st St. (upstairs from Krause Jewellers) in downtown Vernon.
