A Kelowna author will be signing copies of his book called The Runaway Trilogy on Sunday in the city.
Economist Rafael Augusto Carreras has penned The Runaway Trilogy a book that’s goals are to create awareness for people and motivate them to take positive action regarding the well-being of our society, our planet, and our continuously changing human rights.
The book was written to try and restore balance in life, in planet earth, in our freedom, and in our overall sense of security, said Augusto Carreras.
According to the author the book has three guiding principles:
1. This study makes a determined effort to examine the declining moral standards that constantly weaken our civilized society, showing us how to restore our grip on the importance of etiquette, personal discipline, and respect for ourselves and others.
2. This study brings scientific evidence and awareness for people regarding the damage to our delicate environment and ecosystem. It is meant to open people’s eyes to the crude reality and takes no prisoners in a daring presentation of critical issues that need urgent attention, or instead of appreciating what we have, we will regret what we lost.
3. This study shows the false and distorted sense of freedom, privacy, and security we now live in. However, education and knowledge enhance our common sense and provide the power to strengthen our resilience, so necessary for our survival.
Augusto Carreras is an economist with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a professor, business owner and writer. who immigrated to Canada 30 years ago from Mexico City.
The book signing takes place Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Chapters in Kelowna.
