Kelowna hosts marketing intensive event for creatives

The one day event will help small businesses utilize social media effectively

A special event tailored to non-profits, arts groups, individual artists, and small businesses that have an established social media presence is coming to Kelowna.

Hosted by the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan, the one day marketing intensive will teach attendees how to make their social media routine more effective and efficient, broadening their reach to engage with their existing audience.

In this fun, accessible, and interactive workshop, participants will learn how to make social media platforms work for them. Optimize Facebook business pages, take Instagram and Instagram Ads to new heights, create easy, engaging, and impressive content that works; and develop a brand narrative that connects to their community.

Beyond the basics, this session will also tackle ‘Social Media and Mental Health’, how to set boundaries and helpful tactics in creating a positive relationship with the never-ending pressure of engaging with the digital world.

The event will be instructed by Evie Lavers, an innovative arts administrator from Australia, with over six years of experience in delivering online communications, strong social media campaigns, and niche art and culture event services. As well as Zan Comerford, who has seven years of success in marketing niche events, artists, and ideas to international audiences. She specializes in creative, connective marketing campaigns that increase sales, grow a community, and push good into the world.

The event will take place Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Okanagan Colab.
