Ken Lavigne presented his Road to Carnegie Hall show in Burns Lake on Nov. 22, 2013 as part of the Lakes District Arts Council Pieces of Eight 2013/14 performing arts season.
The Lakes District Secondary School mainstage was packed and Lavigne’s rendition of popular hits and his own original songs were very well received. Lavigne, a native of Victoria B.C., told the story of how community support made it possible for him to realize his dreams of playing at Carnegie Hall in New York.
The next performance of the Lakes District Arts Council is the Fung-Chiu Duo on Jan. 19, 2014 at the First Mennonite Church featuring Janelle Fung and Philip Chiu, exciting young musicians who play the classics with energy and humour.
