Langley Community Music School will feature Dr. Namik Sultanov, piano, and Yuri Zaidenberg, violin, in concert on Wednesday, March 14,  as they collaborate to perform well-known works by Brahms, Chopin, Liszt, Tchaikovsky and others.

A noted educator visiting from the University of San Jose, Sultanov will give a master class for LCMS piano students on Tuesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. Auditors are welcome to attend.

Sultanov is well known as a distinguished pianist with an exceptional lyrical gift and distinctive performance style. Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, he showed extraordinary musical talent from a very early age.

Playing violin and flute, he was a serious student of composition in his youth, composing more than 150 pieces that were featured at music school concerts.

Yuri Zaidenberg, born in Kiev, Ukraine, began playing violin at the age of seven.

After studies at the Moscow Conservatory, he appeared in many concerts and on radio and television throughout the former Soviet Union.

Since coming to Canada in 1991, he is much in demand as a concert soloist, also performing in various chamber music groups and as a member of several orchestras.

He is a founder, artistic director and performer of the Russian Musical Heritage Series concerts, representing variety of Russian classical and contemporary music.

After moving to British Columbia in 2006, Zaidenberg joined the faculties of Langley Community Music School and Richmond Music School.

He maintains his private violin studio in White Rock, where he resides.
