The 2019 Pacific Northwest Music Festival 2019 came to a close on April 13 after a very successful 16 days of performances.
The festival featured over 1,300 entries and more than 4,000 performers who showcased their talents in a variety of art forms, including dance, piano, strings, brass, woodwinds, guitar, band, choral, public speaking and speech arts.
Once again, Kitimat was well represented in many categories with impressive results!
A number of Kitimat performers qualified to compete in the final scholarship competition on Friday evening having achieved overall highest mark in their respective categories.
Nicole Hepting competed in two categories representing both Senior Woodwinds and Senior Piano, Marissa Flegel for Junior Brass (trumpet) accompanied by Eldon Knight on the piano and Addison Pitzel for Junior Speech Arts.
The festival ended on Saturday with a Gala evening celebrating the joy and success of all the participants.
Invited to perform on the gala stage were Addison Daye (piano), Fabian Oerlemams (piano), Addison Pitzel (speech arts), Marissa Flegel and Hudson Medeiros (speech arts).
