A new location has been chosen for the fifth annual Kootenay Festival. The event is moving away from the grounds by the Doukhobor discovery centre — across from the airport — to Millennium Park.
“It opens up space for plenty more activities,” Festival Chair, Audrey Maxwell Polovnikoff said.
“Moving to the park will allow more people to simply walk to the festival and create a larger audience for the artisans and performers there.”
The date of this year’s festival is July, 25. Polovnikoff added that due to the timing, temperatures will be high and the Millennium Ponds are the perfect place to take a dip and cool off.
