The Okanagan’s largest art show, the Lake Country ArtWalk, will once again welcome visitors and art lovers Sept. 12 and 13.
This multi-arts festival highlights the work of established and emerging artists from throughout the community, and features dance, music and theatrical performances, as well as interactive workshops. Ron Cannan, MP for Kelowna–Lake Country, announce on July 31 a federal government grant of $8,200 under the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
Chair of the Lake Country ArtWalk Planning Committee, Dr. Sharon McCoubrey, said the support from Canadian Heritage “makes a tremendous difference in our ability to offer a high-quality arts festival. This grant enables us to include many local musicians and artists in our festival, ensuring that everyone attending ArtWalk will enjoy a rich and varied taste of our current creativity!”

• The 22nd Lake Country ArtWalk will take place on September 12 and 13, 2015.
• The festival showcases more than 400 fine and performing artists, and features 3,000 original works of art spanning many genres, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, quilting, photography and ceramics.
• The mandate of the Lake Country ArtWalk is to support artists in British Columbia’s interior; provide the latest and best artworks to view, buy and enjoy; and offer a family‐friendly arts festival.
• The Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
