Langley Fine Arts choir wants to sing back up for Marianas Trench

The senior choir has entered a contest that could lead to them singing on stage for the B.C. band's upcoming tour

Langley Fine Arts Senior Choir wants to sing backup vocals for Juno nominated B.C. band Marianas Trench.

The choir, led by Mr. Jim Sparks, is hoping Marianas Trench will choose them to sing backup at the band’s upcoming Face the Music tour.

Marianas Trench held a contest for local high school choirs to win the opportunity to sing backup vocals on stage for two of their songs, Stutter and Fallout.

One lucky choir will perform on stage in each city they tour. The tour is in October and November.

The idea to enter the contest came from grade 11 student Tierza Roberts, who is a fan of Marianas Trench.

Deven Azevedo, Adam Mah, Ethan Howard, and Brock Philips-Hing provided the music for the video. Ilya Zalubniak is lead singer.

“We only had three rehearsals to pull this together,” said Sparks. The contest closed Sept. 24 so they had little time to rehearse.

The senior choir sang the song in front of the school.  Jenna Andres filmed and edited the video which was sent to the band for review.
