Langley Has Talent registration deadline extended

Artists have until 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 to sign up for Saturday's auditions

Organizers of the annual Langley Has Talent competition are pretty sure they haven’t yet tapped the  community’s full creative potential.

And because they suspect that there are many more acts out there, ready to come forward and perform, they have extended the deadline to register for an audition.

Although Peter Luongo, chair of the talent committee, said many of the acts that have auditioned over the past two weekends are top notch, he would be thrilled to see more classical musicians and dance groups come forward to try out on the final day of auditions this Saturday.

Of course, other acts are more than welcome to audition, too, he added.

Registration has been re-opened on the Langley Has Talent website and contestants can sign up for a spot until 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13.

So far, the audition judges have seen singers, rock acts, instrumentalists, dancers, Cirque du Soleil-style performances and even a magician.

Langley Has Talent returns on March 28 and April 18 at Christian Life Assembly for its fifth and, likely, final year.

Acts selected to compete will vie for cash prizes of $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 as well as industry prize packages.
