Langley students will walk the runway this week to raise money for the Langley Secondary School 2019 dry grad celebration.
The small gym at the Langley Secondary School will be transformed into a Christmas fashion show, complete with raffle prizes, and a formal wear consignment sale.
One of the grad committee parents Lisa Stephens, said this is the first year the school has done a Christmas-themed fashion show.
“We’re doing a Christmas day theme, so we have Christmas pajamas, casual wear, ugly Christmas sweaters, and formal wear.”
The consignment sale at the fundraiser is also new this year, and gently used dresses will be available to purchase at the event.
“I can’t believe people spend all that money for a couple hours then they hang it in the closet. So I thought, we could find people who want to sell their dresses and other people who might be looking to get a nice dress at a better price,” said Stephens.
Prices on consignment dresses will be negotiated between buyer and seller.
The fashion show is on Dec. 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Langley Secondary School on 21405 56 Ave.
Tickets cost $7 for the public and $5 for students and are available in advance or at the door.
For more information or to sell consignment dress clothes, contact Lisa by email at thestephensclan@shaw.ca.
Another Langley group is also hoping to help keep the costs low for Langley students who are graduating this year.
The Fairy Godmother Foundation is looking for donations of gently used formal wear for those who would not otherwise be able to afford their prom or grad activities.
