Last chance to hear Jazz Café Quintet

The band you've come to love at Jazz Café performances move on to other projects.

July 22 will be the last show for Jazz Café Band of talented musicians which includes: Anna Jacyszyn on vocals, Bernie Addington on double bass, Neville Bowman on key boards, Craig Thomson on saxophone and Scott Gamble on drums.

“ We are individually getting so busy with other projects there was just no time to schedule rehearsals or any writing sessions.” Jacyszyn said in a press release.

“We started becoming just a bunch of musicians jamming on a stage and faking our way through it.” Jacyszyn founded and hosted Jazz Café, forming the band for the summertime performances usually held at the Black Box studio at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

“The Trio will continue to do smaller shows around the Okanagan and B.C. but as far as the full band, it’s too much work for one person to be responsible for,” Jacyszyn said.

The Jazz Café Band are performing their last show on July 22 during the Dark Days Live Monday night series that is happening as part of the Kelowna Summer Theatre Festival.

This is a great band of musicians with great songs and arrangements under their belt.  Jacyszyn will be singing her self-penned In Touch with My Muse as well as the duet with Neville Bowman: Duet Again. On the song list are a few new arrangements as well as classic favorites that the band love to play and sing and audiences love to hear.

Tickets are $25 from www.kelownasummertheatrefestival.com.

Jacyszyn said the sixth season of Jazz Café will continue. “Well there is a lot of great talent coming through Kelowna and I have gained the reputation for giving audiences the highest caliber of Jazz entertainment.  I will never let them down” she said.
