After training at the world-renowned London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and performing on the professional stage in London and Vancouver, local actor Chad Ellis started The Art of Speech and Drama to inspire the next generation of actors.
Ellis is dedicated to inspire story tellers of all ages in a fun and engaging way through summer workshops in Fort Langley.
With guidance from professional and working actors and singers, kids of all ages can learn to communicate through the power of drama, speech and singing in a short week-long summer camp.
Throughout the week, students will learn to improvise, sing popular songs as a group, explore story telling and character studies with the aim of developing creativity, imagination, expressiveness and confidence.
Parents will be invited to a short performance at the end of the week to showcase student participation.
Places are limited, however registration is also now open for fall courses as well.
The summer camp takes place Aug. 8 to 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (for ages 7 to 12) and 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. (for ages 13 to 18). Cost is $475.
The camp will take place at St Andrew’s Church Hall, 9025 Glover Rd.
