The Lensmen are returning to Zocalos Cafe on Friday, Jan. 6.
The group brings a lot of years of experience to recreate music that has been around a long time. The group’s repertoire reaches back to just about the turn of the century, 1900 that is, and through the ’40s.
They have also been known to play a little jazz beyond the Big Band era with Len Wilkie crooning a la Frank Sinatra and are not ashamed to say even a little country. Some of the oldies but goodies that will be on the program are When You’re Smilin’, South Of The Border, Could I Have This Dance?, Sweet Georgia Brown and Deed I Do.
The Lensmen are Noel Thomas – cornet, Mike Eddy – piano, Al West – bass and Len Wilkie – drums.
