Splash’N Boots deliver an afternoon of family fun Sunday at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre.

Let it rain for Splash’N Boots

It’ll be sunny inside the Vernon Performing Arts Centre when children’s entertainers Splash N’Boots present two shows Sunday, April 1.

Umbrellas and rain boots are the dress code for this weekend, and that’s not necessarily because of the weather forecast.

It’ll be sunny inside the Vernon Performing Arts Centre when children’s entertainers Splash N’Boots present two shows, with songs, stories and dance, Sunday.

Seen on Treehouse TV with their music video, For the Love of Dance, and as hosts of the show Roll Play, the duo performs the last show in the Performing Arts Centre society’s 2011/2012 kids’ series.

“We are really looking forward to coming to Vernon for the first time,” said Taes (pronounced “Tess”) Leavitt, who is the Boots in the group along with husband, Nick Adams, aka Splash.

“We love B.C. and it’s one of our favourite places to visit!”

Originally from St. Mary’s Ont., Splash’N Boots started out as a 2004 Queen’s University class project. Since then the duo has released five CDs and two full-length DVDs under Splash‘N Boots, and show no signs of slowing down.

Performing internationally over 200 days of the year, Splash’N Boots always find time to stay connected with their fans. From social media, to their online kitchen jams, to their philanthropy with organizations such as Sick Kids Hospital, the couple has proven to have a genuine talent and passion for their craft both on and off the stage.

They have performed on three continents in five different countries, and have released five independent albums.

They were also named the 2007 Canadian Children’s Music Group of the Year by the Independent Music Awards, and recently achieved a major career milestone: gaining national exposure on Treehouse TV with their music video For the Love of Dance, currently in heavy rotation on the famed kids TV channel.

Sunday’s show at the centre takes place at 2 and 4 p.m. All seats are $12, available at the Ticket Seller, 250-549-7469, www.ticketseller.ca.
