Two Abbotsford actors at Trinity Western University (TWU) will perform in The Diary of Anne Frank this fall.
Veronica Hargrave, starring as Frank, and Jenessa Galbraith, who both attend TWU’s School of the Arts, Media and Culture, will feature in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, running from Oct. 27 to Nov. 7 at the school’s Langley campus.
Narrations from Frank’s diary run through the play as it tells the riveting, inspiring story of Frank and seven others hiding in a cramped attic in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam.
“Anne and her family embody the resilience of the human spirit,” says Angela Konrad, the play’s award-winning director. “Even as everything else is taken away, no one can steal or kill hope. The profound hope and faith in this story is, I think, one of the reasons why its popularity still soars – even after 70 years.”
Performances will run Tuesdays to Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday matinees at 2 p.m. A discussion with the cast and director will follow the Nov. 3 performance.
