Darren Larose begins his two-weekend silkscreen printing workshops at the Art Gallery this weekend.

Local artist offering silkscreening workshop

Join artist and local teacher Darren Larose this weekend and next to learn how to silkscreen

Join artist and local teacher Darren Larose on two weekends, Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 and December 3 and 4, from noon to 4 p.m. each day. The workshop will teach participants the process of silkscreen printing – from building your own frame to actually printing your image. Participants can print on t-shirts, fabric, paper, wood and more.

This is an introductory course and the focus will not be on artistic skills, but on process.

The class costs $140 plus GST or $120 plus GST for Gallery members.

Larose is a contemporary artist, currently living in Campbell River. He attended the Ottawa School of Art and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria, and his work has been shown in Ottawa, Victoria and Campbell River, where he currently paints in a studio shed near the ocean.
