Two local teens are getting ready to put on a show at The Crooked Antler.
Musicians Paige Ellerton and Taj Manhas will be performing at the shop, located at 101-421 9th Ave. N., on October 14 from 7 to 8 p.m.
This will be the first time the two have performed live together but not their first time on a stage.
“I have been playing guitar for the last three years and singing since Grade 4,” Ellerton said. Manhas added he has been playing music off and on for years but started performing last year.
Ellerton explained being on stage and performing is something she lives for. “When I am up there in front of everyone they really see me. I was born to do this,” she said.
Even though Manhas has not performed in front of a crowd as much as Ellerton, he did have the chance to sing in front of a few thousand people during a vacation.
“I played on a cruise ship with a few kids in my high school during a school trip to Greece. It was nerve racking but it was memorable,” he said.
As for their favourite parts, Ellerton said it is when she sees people being moved by songs she has written.
“It is my story of something I came up with. To see someone crying, smiling or holding someone’s hand makes me so happy.” Menhas just likes to watch the crowd react to what he does.
As for the chance to put on a show in their hometown, both singers said it will be a great experience to play for family, friends and everyone else who comes by.
