Parksville Qualicum Beach will be teeming with classic cars this weekend at the 21st annual Show & Shine Father’s Day weekend returns.
Over 15,000 spectators are expected to view around 600 vehicles on Sunday in Qualicum Beach, including custom models, antiques, classics, hotrods, muscle cars, motorcycles and more.
The weekend’s events are put on by the Seaside Cruizers car club and they kick off Friday with a cruise from Harris Oceanside GMC. Saturday a Poker Run starts at 11 a.m. at Arrowsmith Golf and Country Club and ends there with a barbecue lunch. Saturday night a free street dance will take place in Qualicum Beach from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Maloomba Boogie Band will perform at the corner of Second Avenue and Primrose Street . The grand finale is the car show on Sunday. From 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. there is a Shriner’s pancake breakfast. Trophy’s and awards will be given out at 2:30 p.m. A Lady’s Shop and Walk event for registrants of the car show will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information visit www.seasidecruizers.com. —News Staff
