Looking for art at the eleventh hour

What happens when four unsuspecting artists are asked to organize a really great show in three days?

What happens when four unsuspecting artists are asked to organize a really great show in three days at the height of the Christmas shopping insanity?

Well, there’s a lot of hand-wringing, teeth-gnashing and crashing about, and perhaps a few choice expletives once or twice.

But in the end, it all comes together in a big, colourful, interesting and fun explosion of creativity in the warm and comfortable venue of the Tidemark Theatre lobby. The show is aptly titled “The Eleventh Hour” and is dominated by the powerful presence of many large pieces, offset by a few exquisite small canvases and has a variety of style and subject matter that will both intrigue and challenge.

Each one of the four professional artists lives and works on the North Island: Sandra Lamb has taught art at the Campbell River Art Gallery for over 10 years; Corre Alice owns Corre Alice Gallery in Cumberland; Lisa Kirk has taught “Pure Process” art in the Comox Valley for several years; and Destanne Lundquist brings a fresh, modern approach from her newly-adopted town of Cumberland.

If you are looking for a really unique and interesting break from Christmas shopping, or perhaps are ready to purchase quality art for your own personal space… or you just love art… drop by the Tidemark Theatre Tuesday to Saturday till the end of the month for a definite Christmas feast for the eyes.
