• Saturday, Gyro Park, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. West Kootenay Smoke n Steel Car Show. All makes, models, anything and everything with or without a motor on display.
• Saturday, Trail Aquatic Centre, 8:30 a.m. until noon for Kids Triathlon. Event divided into age categories and each child must have an adult supervisor present to assist in the transition area and on the course. The day will end with a celebration for all participants and spectators.
• Sunday, Gyro Park, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kootenay South Métis Society invite the community to Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Everyone welcome. Bring a lawn chair for an afternoon of fun, food and entertainment. Ktunaxa Youth Dancers, Eagle Bear Spirit Drummers, and Golden City Fiddlers. Bannock, fry bread. Concession selling buffalo burgers.

• Thursday, Gyro Park, 7 p.m. Music in the Park 2018 begins with a performance by the Maple Leaf Band. Bring a lawn chair. Admission by donation, toonie suggested.
• Sunday, Rossland Legion, 7 p.m. Joe Hill Coffee House winds up 10 years with a Season Finale. Performers include: No Frets Fiddle Ensemble; Wayne Saluti; The Church of Twang; Shelley Ackerman; Robbie Turnbull and associates; and the Gold Fever Follies cast. Doors open 6:30 p.m. Great goodies (no bar) for sale. Family-friendly, admission $3. Joe Hill is always looking for new performers of all ages. No auditions. • June 21, Gyro Park, 7 p.m. Music in the Park presents the Trail Pipe Band playing favourites from their huge repertoire.
• June 28, Gyro Park, 7 p.m. Music in the Park presents HY2. Bring a lawn chair and a $2 minimum donation.
• July 16, Challenger British Soccer Camp for ages 3 to 16. Runs until July 20. Challenger’s own brand of innovative practices: coached games, camp world cup, cultural education, character building, and fun. Register by July 3 to receive a free British soccer jersey.
