From electrifying rock to soothing acoustic to heartfelt country, The Centre Rocks has seen it all, and on Nov. 19 it’s back for the sixth time.
Join local musicians as they take the Rotary Hall Theatre Stage and rock the Chilliwack Cultural Centre with their own hits and maybe even a few songs you’ve heard before — this time with a country twist.
Singer Nicki Meier will be starting out the night with her own pop/country songs. The 17-year-old’s tunes, influenced by Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Carrie Underwood, are sure to get the audience up and moving for the rest of the night.
Meier will be followed by Johnny Esau, and Quinn Patterson a local gifted guitarist who also performs with groups The Colebrook Shephards and Tractorgrease Folk.
Singer-songwriter Sophia Rooke will be up next with original country songs. With beautiful melodies and compelling lyrics, Rooke’s songs will leave the audience wanting more.
Chilliwack’s own Dion Weisbrod and the Unbranded will be closing the evening with a country set, inspired by Johnny Cash and Corb Lund and guaranteed to get feet tapping and boots stomping.
Chilliwack’s home-grown talent will be taking the stage with these five local artists performing throughout the night, and it’ll be an inspiration for anyone interested in producing their own art or just wanting to see what incredible talent Chilliwack has to offer.
It’s an inexpensive way to spend your Saturday night all while supporting the local music scene.
The Centre Rocks is set for Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. Tickets $10 and available at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).
