It will be a show like nothing seen before when Hard Times Hit Parade plays the golden Golden Civic Centre on Saturday, January 21.
Music is generously wrapped around a show filled with dancing and visually powerful moments which take an audience on an emotional roller coaster.
Kicking Horse Culture is bringing the show to town as part of the Live Kicks series. The Hard Times Hit Parade is part of the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret’s Made in BC Tour. The Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret was formed in 2006 as a collective of dance artists and multidisciplinary artists working in the East Vancouver community with a focus on arts for social change. The group mandate is to create original, multidisciplinary work using a collaborative group process to be performed in an immersive environment with direct audience engagement.
According to the Made in BC site the, “Hard Times Hit Parade is a theatrical event set in a dance marathon in a world reminiscent of 1930s. Reflecting the economic hardship of our present time, this full-length theatre production is chalk-a-block with swing dance, cabaret, live music, puppetry and surprise.”
