The Matthew Joel band presents a tour sendoff show Feb. 17 at Tractorgrease studios.
The band is made up of five 18- to 24-year-olds, with several from Chilliwack.
“We play a musical blend that blurs pop and folk,” says Matt.
The band includes Simon Bridgefoot, Jamison Dick, Mason Geddes, Hannah Flom and of course, Matthew Joel. They’re heading to Saskatchewan touring the disc, The Axe and the Evergreen. More at facebook.com/matthewjoelmusic or matthewjoel.bandcamp.com.
“Just about all of the members of the band have spent some time outside of Chilliwack after graduating from high school, and it’s been amazing to return and see these things already happening.
“There’s some incredible talent brewing here in the valley. Bands like Oh No! Yoko, GSTS, and Rags to Radio have really been ripping it up in the past year, and the support offered by facilities like Jeff Bonner’s Tractorgrease Studio is pushing this music forward in really cool ways.”
Matthew Joel Band Tour Sendoff show, Feb, 17 at Tractorgrease studios on Alexander, doors at 7:30. Lineup includes Matthew Joel Band, Fields, The Parish of Little Clifton. Tickets $5.
